Nkanu Stakeholders Summit and Sen Ike Ekweremmadu

“Mbe si n’ oso da n’ ahia, ozogbuo Nwanyi d’ ime, mana mbosi oso dara n’ ahia mbe ejere ahia mana Nwanyi d’ime nwuru, ejebe ibe mbe nwe kpuru mbe”.

Above Igbo proverb is the best to describe the misguided statements by someone who Ndi Enugu regarded as a leader in the person of Sen Ken Nnamani.

Speaking at the Nkanu Stakeholders Summit yesterday, Sen Ken Nnamani said and I quote: “When Jim our brother was contesting for Governorship, a particular Gubernatorial candidate was kidnapped in the election day, that person is Ike Otuonye etc”.

Such condemnable statements clearly shows that Sen. Ken Nnamani who supposed be an elder statesman is now promoting thuggery in our State, such misguided statements from him is nothing but an indirect threat to anybody who wish exercise his or her right by contesting for Governorship come 2022/2023, it’s consequential that Ndi Enugu should have it in mind that if any harm befall on any Gubernatorial candidate in the upcoming election in our state then Sen Ken Nnamani should be hold responsible, the evidence is clear and documented.

Sen Ken Nnamani should know that we Enugu State has grown up above politics of thuggery and gangsterism, he should always speak like an elder whenever he appears in the public.

Enugu State has never witness this type of politicking, I’m from Enugu East Senatorial Zone, I’m not a fan of Sen Ike Ekweremmadu neither do I hold anything against him but truth be told I strongly believe that there is something they are not telling us about him, Sen Ike Ekweremmadu is yet to officially announce whether he will contest for Governor or not come 2023 but they whole camp is jittering, does it mean that he has all it takes to lead Enugu to greatness or are they afraid of him?

When Dr Chimaroke Nnamani was making his own speech at the Nkanu Stakeholders Summit which held at the palace of Igwe Odezuligbo-Nike, HRH Igwe Julius Nnaji, Nnamani couldn’t control himself as he mentioned Sen Ike Ekweremmadu name of which he was cautioned not to mention name, as a participant of that meeting, I asked myself, why will Sen Chimaroke Nnamani mention Sen Ike Ekweremmadu name?, does it mean that he is the reason behind the stakeholders meeting?, then I said to myself, if truly Sen Ike Ekweremmadu is the reason behind all this political gathering and summit in Enugu then he is a man to watch, there is something unique about him, for him to be a nightmare because they believe he want to contest for Governorship then Sen Ike Ekweremmadu must be a superstar, from that moment I began to have a rethink, knowing well that good governance is not about where it comes from but about who is incharge.

I’m not against zoning if existing but I strongly believe that what our dear state needs now is nothing but a credible, competent and capable hand to pilot her affairs irrespective of where the person comes from.

I must appreciate our elders who gathered at Igwe Odezuligbo-Nike palace yesterday to discuss about the betterment Nkanu land and how Nkanu land will produce next Governor but let me also inform us that we are just human, we have right to say but God has the final say in every situation, let’s not be too confrontational and end up regretting it, we must thread with caution.

Personally, I foresee a deceit play, using Nkanu land to achieve Nsukka agenda in the name of Isi-Uzo LGA belongs to Nkanu land is what we ( Ndi Nkanu ) should be careful with, let’s be watchful and thread with caution.
