It was learned that the gunmen encircled the farmers, and held them captive before they killed them while working in their fields.
The bodies of some of the victims were dismembered while some were tied up and their throats slit by the terrorists.
The victims were buried on Monday with residents saying many others are yet to be accounted for.
Meanwhile, the Convener of Concerned Nigerians movement, Deji Adeyanju, has accused security operatives of knowing the location of unknown gunmen wreaking havoc in the South-East.

He further said that the government and security agents know the unknown gunmen just like they know the people responsible for the Abuja-Kaduna train attack.
Adeyanju in a discussion with Leakblast.com claimed that the Federal Government enjoys accusing the Indigenous People of Biafra of the attacks in the region.
He condemned the Federal Government for not taking action against the gunmen but rather negotiating with them.
