Arsenal can get relegated if Leicester won the Premier League – Ray Parlour

Arsenal ‘s position on the Premier League table has given former Gunners midfielder Ray Parlour a cause for concern, Goal reports.

The former England international claims the north London club could surprisingly get relegated just as Leicester City caught everyone unawares by winning the league during the 2015-16 season.

The Foxes were given a slim chance of 5,000/1 by the bookies but against the odds, Claudio Ranieri made history as he landed the prestigious trophy at the King Power Stadium.

On the other hand, Arsenal are just five points off the relegation spot as they have struggled to grind in results on the domestic scene.

Despite winning the FA Cup last season and opened the new campaign with a Community Shield medal, Mikel Arteta’s side have recorded just four wins in 13 games.

The Gunners are now in 15th position, their worst ever spot in the English topflight division in over 60 years.

And Parlour has claimed that the team could recover from their flops but accepts that their current form is alarming.

He told Off The Ball as quoted by Goal:

“Someone asked me the question the other day, can they get relegated?

“I said, ‘well, probably not,’ but then you look at Leicester winning the league at 5,000/1 and they won it, so they can get relegated.

“If they don’t start picking up points and turning it around then there’s a real problem there.”

Arsenal were forced to a 1-1 by Southampton at the Emirates and they face another stern test to high flying Everton at Goodison Park.
