A Facebook user, Ahmed Magem has lamented that Nigeria is cursed with leaders who are so petty and shallow in their thoughts that all they feel they can do is to fight for their religions or using religions to oppress others but that the Chinese are thinking and so the world is feeling their impact
Magem said this in reaction to Chinese plans to build a massive 8,077 miles (13,000 kilometer) high-speed underwater train line to travel from Beijing to the United States.
Magem lamented saying, “Oh certainly NOT. Our brains are definitely fried or roasted. The only thing we are good at is to fight or oppress others for being of different religions or ethnicity.”
China has nicknamed the project – “China-Russia-Canada-America” line. The entire trip would take two days, with the Bullet train traveling at an average of 220mph (350kmh).
Chinese engineers are considering a route that would begin in northeast China and run up through Siberia, go under the Bering Strait in an underwater tunnel that would stretch for 125 miles and come out of Alaska to reach the US through Canada.
This over 8,000 miles long rail line is 1,800 miles longer than the Trans-Siberian railroad.
The tunnel under the icy Bering Strait would be the world’s longest undersea tunnel – four times the length of the Channel Tunnel.
This rail network would make the world a smaller place by allowing rail travel between the four countries, U.S. Canada, Russia and China.
The estimated cost of this China to U.S. railway would be an astonishing $200 billion.
Underwater tunnel crossing the Bering Strait would cost $52 billion.
There is no completion timeline mentioned yet on this project.
Magem said: “My dear people, a Toyota advert some years ago says, “Good thinking, good product”. The Chinese are thinking and so the world is feeling their impact.
“What about us here in Nigeria? Are we thinking at all?
“Look at Nigeria just very closely, line by line and see.
“Very uninspiring leadership across board. From North to South, East to West. The worst cases of leadership are even in the North. Unfortunately, to impress the Northern masses don’t give them food or good governance. Just give them religion. They’ll jump over themselves to be your vuvuzelas and protectors. This has been the case from Kano to Zamfara, Gombe to Bauchi and Kaduna to Katsina.
“Everytime I see such things happening I weep in my heart and know fully well that our cases is a lost case.
“I looked at the recent cases in Kwara State then Gombe State and further down to Zamfara and Niger. All things you’ll never believe can happen in 1990 but are happening right today in 2021.
“Is there any hope in sight?
“Do we then wonder why we are called the POVERTY CAPITAL OF THE WORLD?
“The summation of the sort of leaders that we have is reflected in the realities on ground and in the lives of our people.
“For us, it’s simply not yet uhuru and our eldorado is still a very long way from being realised.
“It’s really sad.”
