Buhari Travels to Kano For Son’s Wedding, Emir’s Coronation


President Muhammadu Buhari has traveled some of his top aides and the administration’s functionaries to go ahead to Kano to represent him at the dual events in Bichi Emirate, Kano State.

The President’s son, Yusuf Buhari will be getting married to Zahra Bayero, daughter of the Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, on Friday while the Emir will be coronated on Saturday.

Although the President is expected at the marriage ceremony on Friday, he is expected to leave Kano same day for another engagement in Adamawa State but his delegation will be staying back to take part in both ceremonies.

According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, the President’s delegation will be led by his Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, who is also an uncle to the Emir of Bichi.

“Ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Kano for the marriage of his son, Yusuf Buhari, to Zahra Bayero, the daughter of Nasiru Ado Bayero, the Emir of Bichi in Kano State on Friday, the President has dispatched a high-level delegation to be led by his Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.

“The Presidential delegation, including the Ministers of Defence, Maj Gen Bashir Salihi Magashi (rtd), Agriculture, Alhaji Sabo Nanono, Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika and Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Hussein Adamu as well as the Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media and Publicity), Garba Shehu will stay back after the wedding, to represent the President at the coronation of the Emir at Bichi the following day, Saturday,” the statement reads
