Atiku’s son was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on February 27 Mohammed Atiku, the son of Nigeria’s former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, has finally defeated coronavirus pandemic after spending 40 days in isolation.
Premium Times reports that Mohammed in a message on Monday, April 27, said he has now tested negative for coronavirus. Leakblast.com
gathered that Atiku-Abubakar was first confirmed to have contracted the virus on March 19, and was subsequently transferred to an isolation centre on the outskirts of the Nigerian capital, Abuja.
According to the online medium, Mohammed said: “I have just received my second consecutive negative result. My discharge is currently being processed, and I hope to be home this evening.” The Nigerian disease control office does not comment on individual cases.
The report also noted that the 31-year-old, however, failed to test negative for the virus until Monday, April 27, a 40-day ordeal that experts said could be among the longest ever recorded in the country since the first infection was confirmed in Lagos February 27.
