Nigeria’s coronavirus cases are now officially 53,317 after confirmation of 296 new cases
This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday, August 28
In the latest data released by the NCDC, Plateau state recorded the highest infections with 85 in the state
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday, August 28 reported that there are 296 new cases of coronavirus in Nigeria.
The NCDC, via its official Twitter account, revealed that the new cases are as follows:
Plateau state – 85
Enugu state – 46
Oyo state – 31
Lagos state – 21
Rivers state – 20
Federal Capital Territory, Abuja – 15
Kaduna state – 13
Bauchi state – 12
Delta state – 11
Ekiti state – 11
Akwa Ibom state – 7
Ebonyi state – 6
Kwara state – 5
Ogun state – 4
Osun state – 4
Gombe state – 3
Niger state – 2

This means there are now 53,317 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria.
While 40,726 have been discharged, 1,011 people have died due to the viral disease.
