Coronavirus: Nigerians react as FG announces new restrictions


 New COVID-19 restrictions have been announced by the Nigerian government amid the rising cases of infections

 Reacting on social media, many lamented that they are not mentally prepared to face another lockdown

 Meanwhile, the Lagos state government has said the state cannot afford being locked down for the second time

With the cases of COVID-19 rising again in Nigeria, the federal government has announced new restrictions.

Among others, the Nigerian government restricted the number of persons that will be allowed in religious and festive gatherings with effect from Tuesday, December 22.

The new development is generating diverse and mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media with “Lockdown 2.0” trending on Twitter on Tuesday, December 22 collects some of the reactions to the restrictions which are coming as the nation approaches the festive season

“Nigeria’s government of Buhari has activated lockdown 2.0 but still allowing travellers in from where new variant of COVID-19 has been confirmed, now there has been a suspected case of the new Covid variant in Osun State.”
