While many states have maintained a laizze faire attitude towards their citizens in the containment of Corona virus, the Enugu state government, through the Enugu state Fires service has adopted a more proactive and continuous fumigation exercise to ensure that every nook and cranny of the state is free from the lethal disease called Corona virus.

The commission embarked on a second missionary journey to the populous Ogbete Main Market Enugu on the 31st of May, being Sunday, to fumigate the market. Briefing the press before the commencement of the exercise, the Enugu State chief fire service officer, Engr. Okwudiri Ohaa,who was also present in his full working apparel, reiterated that the commission,under the directives of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has engaged in such similar exercise in the market before now.
He disclosed that the continuous exercise is the Enugu State government inititiative towards ensuring that the demon called Corona Virus is gotten rid of in the State. “Apart from the fumigation exercises, we have also partnered with the various stake holders and leaders of the market to ensure that they provide hand washing basins and sanitizers to everyone carrying out business activities in the market and we also devise proper monitoring strategies to ensure they adhere to this strictly,” he said. He commend Governor Ugwuanyi for his zero tolerance for the spread and contraction of the virus in the state.
He finally urged the people of Enugu state to support the good works of the Enugu State Government in the containment of Corona Virus by ensuring that they adhere strictly to all the precautionary measures provided by the state as a way of checkmating the ugly spread of the virus
