Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez among 5 strikers with the most hat-tricks in football history

Goal scoring is an exceptional skill of some footballers, but some stars have been quite lethal in front of goal that they get at least three goals in a match.

A team with a clinical finisher is a nightmare for the opposition and in the past couple of decades, some strikers have banged-in goals upon goals to write their names in history books.

Here we look at 5 strikers with the most hat-tricks in football history according to SportsSkeeda.

5. Robert Lewandowski (24 hat tricks)

No doubt, the Germany and Bayern Munich legend would have easily walked home with the Ballon d’Or if not for the pandemic which forced organisers to postpone the awards until next year.

Lewandowski has remained consistent in front of goal as he found the back of the net 49 times in 41 matches for Bayern Munich across all competitions last season, helping the Bundesliga champions to also win the Champions League.

He has 24 career hat-tricks so far; with his last coming in their win against Frankfurt last October.

4. Luis Suarez (29 hat tricks)

The Uruguayan is no doubt endowed with an unbelievable level of goal sense, although the 33-year-old looks like he is beginning to fade gradually.

He still feels bad how he was let go at Catalan club Barcelona despite him giving so much to become the third all-time highest scorer for the club.

During the peak of his career, Suarez even outscored the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as he was a member of perhaps the greatest attacking trio in modern football- Messi, Suarez and Neymar (MSN).

3. Lionel Messi (54 hat tricks)

An exceptionally talented player, who is in a realm of his own. Messi has ridiculous numbers of goals and he is sure to have plenty more in the coming years.

The 33-year-old has 53 career hat-tricks already. In fact, Messi has scored four goals on five occasions and has scored five goals in a game once as well. The diminutive Argentine is a nightmare for defenders with his unreal close control and dribbling ability.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo (56 hat tricks)

Probably still the best on the planet. Cristiano Ronaldo is 35 years and there is no glimpse that the Portuguese striker is stopping.

An elite athlete, Ronaldo might have lost a bit of pace but he makes up for it with his movement and intelligence

Cristiano Ronaldo is in contention with Lionel Messi for the tag of ‘greatest of all time’ and so far he has scored 56 career hat tricks.

1. Pele (92 hat tricks)

Although his records and numbers are contentious due to the obscurity of the sources; no doubt Pele is one of the greatest men in the history of football.

Many of his 92 hat tricks have come in friendlies but if those numbers are good enough for the Guinness World Records, who are we to judge?

Three all-time best teams were voted by 140 journalists and the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Pele and the late Diego Maradona made the cut for the first team.
