Following the report that the former Deputy President of the senate, Ike Ekweremadu was arrested in UK, sources have come out to clear the air and relate certain facts to the general public some of which is that they made it categorically clear that Ike Ekweremadu wasn’t involved in any organ trafficking.
According to sources, one of his daughters, Sonia Ekweremadu needed a kidney transplant and a willing donor was seen in Nigeria and travel preparations were made.
Senator Ike Ekweremadu was said to have written to the British High Commission, explaining the situation, and the donor travelled to the UK with the patient.
As the story goes, unfortunately, the organ was not a match with the patient who is a 21 year old man and not a girl or a minor unlike the story making rounds.
Ukpo Nwamini David, the young man in question not wanting to return to Nigeria, reported that he was trafficked to London for possible organ harvest, in believe that he would be guaranteed asylum.
