How to Check Whether a Company is Registered with CAC

Many Nigerians have lately been scammed of their hard-earned money mostly in some online investments and job vacancies.
Some scammers would send their victims short notices, requesting they register and pay certain amount of money for their jobs to be processed. They also promise their victims mouth-watering pays when they successfully pay and  show proofs for their so-called processing fee.
However, it is better to be safe by checking whether the company is dully registered with Corporate Affair Commission (CAC).
Even when any person or groups of persons claim to be registered  with CAC, it is very pertinent to run a check because every registered company could be found on the CAC’s website with few clicks of the buttons.

Remember that Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) is an autonomous body charged with the responsibility to regulate the formation and management of companies in Nigeria.

To check if a company or business is registered, follow this simple steps:

  1. Visit CAC website by clicking here,
  2. Type the company name in the field provided without “Plc”, “Limited” or “Ltd”.
  3. Click on Search .
