The Nigerian Army headquarters has announced the surrender of hundreds of Boko Haram members, and fighters of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP).
The army reported via its official Twitter handle on Wednesday night that a total of three hundred and fourteen terrorists relinquished themselves to troops during an operation in the Bama local government area of the state.
Leakblast.com understands from the report that the troops also rescued twelve farmers from the terrorists.
The former fighters according to the army headquarters are currently being profiled.
“The ongoing offensive onslaught against terrorism in the North East recorded another success today, 29 June 2022 as 314 Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters surrendered to troops in Bama LGA of Borno State. Additionally, 12 farmers were also rescued by troops.
