A Nigerian lawmaker has died at a hospital in Kaduna after a brief illness

The lawmaker, Alhaji Abdurrazaq Tsigawas passed away on Sunday, May 10

The Katsina lawmaker has since been buried according to Islamic rites

Katsina state has lost one of its lawmakers, Alhaji Abdurrazaq Tsiga, who represented Bakori constituency at the state House of Assembly, Radio Nigeria reports.

He died at the age of sixty-nine (69) at Malumfashi General Hospital in Kaduna after a brief illness.

Leakblast.com gathered that Tsiga has been in and out of the hospital for health issues since he was sworn in for a second term back in June 2019.

The Katsina lawmaker who died in the late hours of Sunday, May 10 was buried on Monday, May 11, at Tsiga town according to Islamic rites.

Until his deathTsiga represented Bakori Constituency for two elective terms. He was the House deputy leader and chairman, house committee on business, ethics, and privileges.

The late Tsiga is survived by four wives, many children and grandchildren.

The late lawmaker, Suleiman Adamu, was a member representing Nasarawa Central constituency in the state legislature.

Adamu’s death was confirmed in an announcement by another lawmaker, Mohammed Okpoku, representing Udege/Loko constituency.

Okpoku told newsmen that on Friday, May 1 in Nasarawa local government area of the state that late Suleiman died at Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Keffi in the late hours of Thursday, April 30 after a brief illness.

In a related development, barely a week after the death of Shehu of Bama, Borno state lost one of its lawmakers, Umar Audi, who represented Bayo constituency at the state House of Assembly.

Audi was reported to have passed away on Tuesday evening, May 5, at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

The lawmaker was initially rejected because there was no bed space as the health workers claimed the only available space was for any emergency that is childbirth related.

He was later admitted after his family member prevailed over the matter but he gave up shortly after he was admitted for treatment.
