The musical battlefield in the Voice Nigeria season three which kicked off in the 11th week, reached a crescendo in week 12 with Kpee and Rachel calling coach Darey an Oliver Twist.
With 16 talents struggling to conquer the battlefield, the coaches witnessed the final round of the battle of the fittest.
Though Rachel, Esther, Jeremiah, Dapo, Ayomikun, Nuel Ayo, Inioluwa, Eazzie, Vanilla, Kitay, Naomi Mac, Peace, KPee, Tamara, Anu, and Toeseen got on the Battlefield to slug it out, only eight of the talents have made it to the next stage.
The 12th edition sees talents in Yemi Alade and Darey’s teams slugging it out with their team members for a spot in the next round of the show tagged the Live show.
Talents in Yemi’s team, Vanilla and Kitay, belled the cat as they went to the musical battlefield with their arsenals to perform Bruno Mars’s hit song, ‘Uptown Funk.’ Kitay won the battle and strutted into the live show.
Jeremiah and Esther from Yemi Alade’s team went next to perform Teni Makanaki’s ‘Uyo Meyo.’ After their rendition, Esther went through to the live show while Jeremiah ended his journey.
Toeseen and Anu went head to head as they battled yet remained in sync while performing Rihanna’s hit tune, ‘Stay’. The coaches all agreed that their performances made it a difficult task for coach Yemi to announce the winner of the battle. Yemi was left in a fixed position but settled for Anu as the winner of the battle.
Like it was last week, the stage was set for what became the biggest performances of the night between Rachel and Kpee. The two talents under Darey’s care were tasked with performing D’banj’s smashing hit, ‘Oliver Twist.’ The duo of Rachel and Kpee successfully mesmerised the coaches, who couldn’t help but stand on their feet to dance to the tunes from the two talents. Though only Kpee made it to the live show, the coaches couldn’t help but shower accolades on Rachel for the performance.
Just as Peace, Nuel Ayo, Ayomikun, and Tamara were given one final chance to make it to the live show through the Viewers Save process, Vanilla, Jeremiah, Toeseen, and Rachel got a lifeline to make it back to the show. However, the viewers will decide who gets that one chance through.
Already through to the live show stage are Dapo, Eazzie, Inioluwa, Naomi Mac, Kitay, Esther, Anu, and Kpee. Two among the other talents on the Viewers Save list will join the eight others for the live show in the coming weeks.
