On Monday 12th October 2020, the dynamic Chairman of Enugu East LGA, Hon. Prince Alex Ugwu inaugurated Executive Members of Nkanu Youth Assembly, Enugu East LG Chapter led by Hon. Friday Nnamchi.
In his introductory speech, the National President of the Assembly, Comrade Edeani described the Assembly as a youth organization focused on promoting interests of youths of Nkanu land and also committed to youth empowerment.
He commended Gov. Ugwuanyi and Hon. Prince Alex Ugwu for their youth-friendly administration. He further affirmed that Ekwueme is complementing Gov. Ugwuanyi’s developmental strides at grassroot level.
In his inaugural speech, the Executive Chairman of Enugu East LGA, Hon. Prince Alex Ugwu thanked members of the Assembly. He advised them to key into quality education because it plays a vital role to self development.
He urged them to acquire ICT skills in order not to be left out in this information age. He further enjoined them to avoid discrimination and promote unity in Nkanuland.
He promised them that he will continue to support the Assembly and sustain the youth-inclusiveness of his administration.
The inaugural ceremony also featured presentation of Meritorious Award to the council Chairman by the Assembly in recognition of his youth-friendly administration and people-oriented leadership.
In view of the above, The National Secretary of the Assembly, Mr. Beneth Iloka, described Hon. Prince Alex Ugwu as the most youth-friendly Local Government Chairman in Enugu East Senatorial Zone. He described the Award as honour well deserved.

The inaugural ceremony was witnessed by the Deputy Chairman of Enugu East LGA, Hon. Melitus Anike, Secretary of the Council Area, Hon. Andy Ugwu, Personal Secretary to Chairman of Enugu East LGA, Hon. Onyeka Okolo, SPA on Political Matters, Hon. Jude Okwor, Traditional Ruler of Mbulu-Owehe, HRH, Igwe Louis Nnamani, PG of Town Unions and other dignitaries.
