The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 221 new cases of the new coronavirus disease in the country, bringing the total infections up to 53,021.

The new cases announced by the disease control agency via Twitter on Wednesday night, August 26, were recorded in 20 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). notes that Plateau, FCT and Kaduna top the chart with 60, 33, and 26 cases respectively.

Nigeria’s total Covid-19 cases now stand at 53,021 with 40,281 recoveries and 1,010 deaths.

Rivers – 18

Lagos – 17

Enugu – 9

Kwara – 9

Ondo – 9

Edo – 2

Ogun – 2

Oyo – 2

Osun – 2

Bauchi – 1

Kano – 1
