The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday, June 11 reported that there are 681 new cases of coronavirus in Nigeria.
The latest figures announced by the NCDC is the highest in a single day so far as Nigeria continues to battle the viral disease.
The NCDC via its official Twitter account revealed that the new cases are as follows:

With the latest figures, there are now 14554 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria. While 4494 have been discharged, 387 people have died due to the viral disease.
Despite the rising cases of coronavirus, the federal government on Thursday, June 11, said there may be no need to impose another lockdown in the country over the pandemic.
Boss Mustapha, the secretary to the government of the federation, who chairs the COVID-19 taskforce made the statement during a briefing in Abuja.

He said the government would strengthen compliance with the COVID-19 regulations rather than enforcing another lockdown.
According to him, enforcing another total lockdown in the country after the previous five weeks lockdown would be similar to moving backwards in terms of strategic implementation.
