Ndidi Reoccur For Foxes Delights Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers Leicester City manager says “it is impressive”to have midfielder Wilfred Ndidi back in the team after recovering from a hamstring injury.

The Nigerian international has missed seven games during that time, but he was a surprise inclusion on the bench at the weekend for the defeat against Arsenal.

However, even though Ndidi was named in the match day squad, Rodgers opted not to use him, which means his return to the team could take place when the Foxes face Spartak Moscow tonight in their latest Europa League fixture, with the two teams occupying the bottom places in Group C.

“It is great to have him back and available and we will see how his fitness looks over the coming days.” Rodgers said.

“Whether (Ndidi’s) going to be available or not for Thursday (tonight) to put him in, we’ll see. Certainly he should be ready by the weekend. He’s trained really well, but we just have to be careful and mindful of the injury he’s coming back from.”

“Hopefully. He has just trained this week. He was one that if we needed him for 15 or 20 minutes maximum, that was our plan, but chasing the game (against Arsenal) there wasn’t that need to put him on,” he added.
