A Nigerian man simply identified as Festus has shared his horrible experience in Libya where he travelled to by road.
Festus said he was told that his trip from Nigeria to Libya and then to Italy would only take one week but he almost died when he embarked on the journey if not for the intervention of God.

He said it is Nigerians that sell one another to the Arabs, adding that it was God that saved him when he was sold.
According to him, he was shot in the leg when he and others attempted to escape when they were imprisoned.
Festus disclosed he was already seeing Italy but he was not allowed to enter. The Libya returnee said he spent three months in prison the last time he was arrested.
He called on Nigerians to never embark on such a journey, adding that it is better to continue living in poverty in the country than to travel in search of greener pastures through the wrong route.
In similar news, a 24-year-old Nigerian lady identified as Omolara Akintayo said she regretted travelling to Libya in search of greener pastures.
In a video interview with leakblast TV, the young lady said she travelled to Libya in search of greener pastures because her parents were languishing in poverty.
Omolara narrated the ordeal she went through on her way to Libya, saying she spent 14 days to get to the North African country.
