Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases rise above 43,000 as NCDC confirms 462


The latest figures from the NCDC show that no fewer than 462 people have newly contracted the deadly coronavirus disease

The new cases bring the total of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 43, 151

The death toll increased by only one according to the information from the NCDC

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 462 fresh cases of the coronavirus pandemic COVID-19 across the country.

According to statistics released by the agency late on Friday, July 31, the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja led the table of cases with 93.

Lagos dropped to second on the table with 78 cases while Plateau, Kaduna and Oyo states completed the top five with 64, 54 and 47 cases respectively.

Sadly, one person was reported dead on Friday to bring the death from the virus to 879.

On the bright side, NCDC also reported that 295 people recovered from the disease across the nation. One of such people is the governor of Ebonyi state.
