NIMC finally reveals amount NIN applicants must pay for correction of dates of birth


 NIMC has issued a new directive for the applicants of the NIN

Funmi Opesanwo, the NIMC regional coordinator, said that N15,000 would be required to correct the dates of birth

Opesanwo added that N5,000 would be paid for the card renewal

All applicants for the National Identification Number (NIN) would be required to pay N15,000 to correct their dates of birth in the database of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

Punch reports that the NIMC’s regional coordinator, Funmi Opesanwo, stated this on Wednesday, January 6, at the commission’s office in the Alausa area of Lagos state.

Opesanwo said there are different services that the commission offers, noting that NIN enrolment is free but there are fees attached to card renewal, correction of date of birth and change of address.
The NIMC official noted that the fees are payable to the Treasury Single Account (TSA) of the federal government, adding that for correction of date of birth, it is N15,000 and it is payable to the TSA.
