Rumours of Agboola Ajayi withdrawing from the Ondo governorship race has been dismissed

The deputy governor of Ondo state and governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, Agboola Ajayi, has dismissed social media reports suggesting he has pulled out from the race.
A document purportedly signed by Agboola titled: “Withdrawal from Ondo 2020 gubernatorial race” has been making the rounds early Saturday, October 10.
Agboola’s spokesman, Babatope Okeowo said news that his principal has stepped down in the ongoing Ondo gubernatorial election is fake and should be disregarded.
He told the Tribune newspaper: “The document is fake and should be disregarded. It is doctored to demean Mr Agboola.”
Similarly, the director of media and publicity, Ajayi Campaign Organisation, Mr Akinsola, said the withdrawal was a figment of a hyperactive imagination.
This forged document is one of the devious plans of the outgoing government of All Progressives Congress (APC) to catch on the popularity of the Deputy Governor to shore up its dwindling fortune.

He said those peddling rumours and falsehood are agents of potential losers of the poll.
His words: “They are weak and afraid. Ajayi has not withdrawn. Ajayi will not withdraw. He is in the race to win.”
