As politicking for the 2023 general elections gathers momentum, Kogi West Senatorial candidate on the platform of African Democratic Congress, Barr. Dele Williams, has tasked Nigerians to leverage on the electoral act to vote in credible candidates that will work for the development of the country.

According to the senatorial candidate, if the people actively participate in the election and vote for the candidates of their choice, the country will be on the verge of emerging as a strong democratic entity.

The ADC flagbearer said the new Electoral Act has proven to the world that democracy is gradually taking root in the country, noting that because of the act, some regular candidates lost in the primaries of their own parties.

Williams, who is a development specialist, before now, people like him wouldn’t have been given a chance to emerge as a senatorial candidate, but expressed confidence that INEC will be impregnable for election riggers.

According to him, despite the woeful performance of the APC administration, especially in security, economy, President Muhammadu Buhari should be commended for signing the Electoral Act into law, as it has returned power to the people as demonstrated in Ekiti and Osun elections.

“I look forward to the forthcoming general election, which I am confident to win. I’m sure with the Biometric Voter Accreditation System, BVAS and the resilience of the Kogi West, I remain, the candidate to beat.

“ADC has a good chance in 2023 if the people’s will is allowed to prevail. The people of Kogi West are cognisant of the perennial political parties like the APC and PDP, which have failed them over the years with unfulfilled promises,” he stated.

Barr. William listed the greatest problem facing Nigeria to include, collapse of justice system, infrastructural decay, economic downturn, insecurity, assuring that, if elected he will initiate bills and motions to strengthen independence of the judiciary and policing system.
