Manchester United boss, Erik Ten Hag has explained what he wants to achieve with his squad ahead of their preseason matches, including their clash against Liverpool on Tuesday.
The Red Devils are on a pre-season tour of Asia and flew out on Friday.
United will play six friendlies across Thailand, Australia, Norway and then back at Old Trafford in an extremely busy pre-season.
Ten Hag said he is working to get his ideas and style of play across to his players in United’s rebuilding process.
“We want to play a proactive style of football,” he told the club’s media. “On the ball and off the ball. We are brave and willing to have the ball, to give each other options. But also off the ball, to get the pressing style is what we’re working for together.”
“Of course, I want to bring the energy to my team,” he said. “But I must say, the players do really well. They are really focused. They bring, for themselves, the energy.
“You see, they enjoy playing football. They enjoy playing football together and they really work well together.”
Manchester United plays against Liverpool in Bangkok on Tuesday before flying to the MCG to take on Melbourne Victory in Australia on Friday.
