President Muhammadu Buhari has dismissed any expectation that Nigeria’s land borders would be reopened anytime soon.
Buhari urged Nigerians to consume what is produced locally because his administration is not ready to reopen the land borders now, Leakblast reported.
According to Newsmen, the president made the statement in Kebbi state during a tour to access the level of damage done by floods.
Buhari who was represented by the ministry minister of agriculture, Mohammed Sabo Nanono, said the federal government was ready to empower farmers to boost local production and perhaps, exports.
“I was sent by Mr. President to come and see the level of damage in Kebbi State. And I have seen it. We are going to compensate Kebbi more than other states,” he said.
