Engr. Okwudiri Daniel Ohaa was born on November 24, 1975.

He attended Amuzu-Ukwu Community Primary School, Ibeku, Umuahia, then Imo State. After his primary education, Engr. Ohaa gained admission into the famous Holy Ghost Technical Secondary School, Olokoro Umuahia in 1986 and his secondary school education at the then Boys Secondary School, Umueze Awkunanaw in 1992 from where he obtained his Senior Secondary School Certificate.

He proceeded to Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) where he studied Mechanical /production Engineering. He graduated from the University in 2000/2001 academic session with honours degree in Engineering. Engr. Ohaa performed the mandatory National Youth Service from January to December, 2002 in Ogun State, where his services were found to be quite outstanding.

On completion of the NYSC Programme, Engr. Ohaa was on 28th July 2004, gainfully employed by the Enugu State Post Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB). Following the need for qualified /graduate engineers in the Enugu State Fire Service, Engr. Ohaa transferred his service from the PPSMB to Enugu State Fire Service as a Senior Fîre Officer II on 4th October, 2005.

Following the retirement from service of the then State Chief Fire Officer, Engr. Ohaa was appointed the head of the State Fire Service with effect from 1st July, 2016 by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Enugu State Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Ifeanyichukwu Lawrence Ugwuanyi a position he still holds.

As the head of the State Fire Service, he has done marvelously well to raise the State Fire Service to International standard, with the great encouragement of His Excellency, the Governor of Enugu State Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Ifeanyichukwu Lawrence Ugwuanyi, all the members of the State Exco, Ndi Enugu and the entire staff of Enugu State Fire Service.

He has also introduced the international best practices, not only in firefighting, but in fire service generally.

HOBBY:
Engr. Okwudiri Daniel Ohaa was very famous among his peers as a good footballer, earning him the nick name of “Edebor” after a famous Nigerian football super star – Humphrey Odebor of the Super Eagles. The nick name has almost over shadow his real name.
Engr. Ohaa hails from Enugu State, he is happily married and blessed with four children.
