Shehu Sani, a former senator who represented Kaduna Central, has urged those who stole the office staff of Lagos state monarch, Oba Riliwan Akinolu, to return it.

In a tweet on Friday, October 23, the former lawmaker urged the hoodlums who took away the staff to respect the sanctity of the throne.

Leakblast recalls that the palace, located at Iga Idugaran area of Lagos Island, was attacked by hoodlums who vandalised vehicles and carted away several artefacts.

The attackers seized the king’s staff of office commonly referred to as ‘Opa Ase’ with reports saying that the same thugs were the ones who set the family home of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu ablaze.

The hoodlums were said to have claimed that the king is a politician and deserved to be punished for the woe of the country.

In a reaction, Sani appealed to the hoodlums to return the staff and respect the throne.

In his words: “Whoever carted away the staff of the Oba and his shoe should please respect the throne and return it.”

Meanwhile, the former lawmaker has described as cruel, inhuman and soulless attempt by the government to keep Covid-19 palliative despite hunger in the land.

Sani’s remark is a reaction to the looting of the Covid-19 warehouse in Maza maza area of Lagos state by a legion of young residents.

“It’s cruel, inhuman and soulless for government agencies to keep such stockpiles of foodstuffs while millions of people go to bed hungry.

“Why keeping palliatives items in Store when people are hungry during and after lockdown?”

Speaking on Arise TV on Thursday, October 22, the Lagos state governor stated that “nobody ordered” the removal of the camera and turning off the light contrary to the circulation on the social media.

Sanwo-Olu said there was the security of LCC on the ground and added that what looked like a camera are “necessary installation” removed due to 24-hour curfew imposed on the state over repeated attacks of hoodlums.
