Top Jigawa politicians court NNPP after defeat in party primaries
Top on the list of the team of politicians are the former Jigawa State Deputy Governor, Ahmed Mahmud Gumel, Senator Sabo Muhammad Nakudu, PDP gubernatorial aspirant, and Bashir Adamu.
Others include a former member of the House of Representatives, Gausu Boyi Ringim, member state assembly, Sule Musa Dutse, former Chairman of Dutse, Bala Yargaba among others.
The notable APC and PDP chieftains were seen in a group photograph with the NNPP leader in the state, Malam Aminu Ringim, suspected to have been taken after a crucial meeting.
The meeting, Leakblast.com reliably gathered was hosted by the Jigawa NNPP leader, Malam Aminu Ibrahim Ringim at his private residence in Kano.
Those at the meeting were Maisudan, Yalwan Damai, Safiyanu Taura, Aminu Infor Babura, Murtala Arrow, Musa Kazaure, Lawan Kazaure, among others NNPP faithful.
In a reaction to the development, a chieftain of the NNPP, Lawan Kazaure confirmed that some APC and PDP serving and former Senators, house of representatives members, former deputy governor, and state assembly members among others have indicated interest to join their party.
He explained that meetings have been held in preparation to receive them into the party, adding that more politicians will join the party very soon.
In a counter, Olu Katanga, one of the supporters of PDP gubernatorial aspirant, Bashir Adamu denied the rumour saying Bashir is still a card-carrying PDP member and that the meeting has nothing to do with decamping to the NNPP.
Also speaking, Bilyaminu Excellency Hadejia said his boss Bashir Adamu has not indicated interest to leave PDP for now, noting that the meeting was held to discuss the way to bring together all the aspirants.
Our Correspondent reports that most of the politicians who attended the meeting are aspirants who lost primary elections in either PDP or APC.
The defeated aspirants include PDP gubernatorial aspirants, Bashir Adamu, Senator Muhammad Nakudu, and Ahmed Mahmud Gumel, who lost their APC gubernatorial aspirations to the sitting Deputy governor, Umar Namadi.
Others are Sule Musa Dutse member state assembly, who lost his seat and other aggrieved APC and PDP chieftains.
