Police in Katsina have arrested two suspected robbers dressed in army and police uniforms.
Yahaya Armaya’u, 35, alias Kofur, and Bashir Isiyaku 32, alias Soja, were paraded yesterday before pressmen at the State Police command Headquarters, Katsina.
Police said the uniforms were a camouflage to deceive victims until they were robbed.
Spokesman Gambo Isa said the suspects dressed in police and army uniforms and driving a Golf car, attacked one Alhaji Zaharadin Yau.
He said the suspects intimidated Yau with a handcuff before robbing him of his motorcycle worth over N200,000.
“Using the same strategy, the suspects attacked and robbed one Usman Sani of Yari-Bori village, of his motorcycle,” Isa said.
“In the course of investigation, the suspects confessed to have used similar methods and robbed four Boxer motorcycles at different locations between Malumfashi and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.”
“Items recovered from the suspects included a handcuff, a police cap, an army camouflage T-shirt, and two black Jeans trousers.ong others.
Seven alleged informants and several logistics suppliers to bandits as well as cattle rustlers were also paraded.
