UEFA Europa League: Olarenwaju’s strike takes Sivasspor to group stage

Sivasspor of Turkey loanee Kayode Olarenwaju’s quest for a return to Nigeria’s senior national team, the Super Eagles received a big boost yesterday after his lone strike for his club in the Europa League qualifier ensured that Savasspor will participate in the competition group stages.

Olarenwaju, who has been in top form recently was the competition top scorer in the group stage last season and he does not look to be slowing down.

The forward who rejoined Turkish Super Lig Sivasspor on a loan from Shakhtar Donetsk ended the dream of stubborn CS Petroclub side with his 35th-minute strike which was enough for Sivasspor to progress to the competition proper.

The 28-year-old spent last season on loan at Sivasspor and was one of the standout performers for the club.
