Aisha Yesufu, Popular activist has alleged why Vice President Yemi Osinbajo lost the 2023 All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket to Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Leakblast.com reports that Tinubu on Wednesday was announced the flag-bearer of the ruling party for the 2023 general elections.

The APC National Leader won with a wide margin ahead of former Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi who came second, and VP Osinbajo who emerged third on the voting list.

Tinubu’s victory at the APC national convention has since received congratulations from political stakeholders and supporters, with more still coming in.

Reacting, however, to the outcome of the party’s presidential polls held at the Eagles Square, Aisha Yesufu who is known to be a critic of the incumbent government, described VP Osinbajo as a betrayer of the people.

According to Yesufu, Osinbajo in a real sense did not betray Tinubu as claimed by many people. She, however, said the VP betrayed the trust of many Nigerians who had voted for the APC in 2015 because of him (Osinbajo).

She stressed that Osinbajo who many people, especially in the South West, are seeing as a betrayer for picking the presidential form and running against his former boss, failed because he turned his back on the people.

Yesufu said Osinbajo’s face on the campaign posters in 2015 was the reason why Nigerians voted for the APC.

She tweeted: “Osinbajo @ProfOsinbajo betrayed the people, not Tinubu. Many voted for the APC ticket in 2015 because of Osinbajo.

“He went in there and turned his back on the people. He decided to side with oppression and suppression!”
