A poor widow trains her three children in high school with the proceeds from her corn roasting business.
over the years, it has been a norm in Africa and some part of Asia to be addicted to eating roasted corn in the open at a certain time of the year. coming down to our Nigerian parlance, roasting corn has become a big business for both the old and the young especially in the south-eastern part of Nigeria.
Leakblast reporter had a one on one interview with a corn seller along Abakpa area of Enugu coal city identified as Mrs. Janet Ugwu.
she explained that she has been a widow since eleven years, taking care of her three children up to tertiary institution with the proceeds from her farming business and subsequently the corn roasting business.
she added that so many people looks down on road side corn roasters but she can categorically say that one can raise between two hundred to four hundred thousand if done with upmost dedication and consistency within the corn season.
To her, it is better to be a roadside roasted corn seller than to dabble into crime. A bold step into the business can change your life for the better.
