Lagos government has directed all the private and government-owned schools in the state to vacate and end “the 2020/2021 first term academic session.”
This is contained in a statement released on Thursday, December 17, signed by Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, the director-general of office of education quality assurance, ministry of education.
The purpose of the directive, according to the statement, is to allow the students “to close for the Christmas and New Year holiday on that day.”
Meanwhile, in compliance with the state’s academic calendar, the schools have also been mandated to resume on Monday, January 4, 2021.

Part of the statement read:
“The Lagos States Government has directed public and private schools in the state to vacate on Friday 18th December 2020.
